  Sent them away to research 1914!

  hi all, i have not posted for some time, to bring you up to date, i recently moved, the local jw's do not know me.

  they do not know i am a fade-away.. as luck would have it, a couple of weeks ago two 50-somthing jw's, husband and wife, knocked on our door while doing normal house to house work.

  i got the standard presentation, with a strong emphasis on 1914 and the last days.

  The appendix to the Kingdom book is where I started my research on this topic two years ago. As I read through it I soon realized that what it does is admit that there is no historical evidence for 607, but instead much evidence that would - if anything - discredit that date. Of course, the book is 20 years old. Surely if any evidence to support 607 had been discovered since then, the Watchtower would have been shouting it from the rooftops. Instead, as Blondie points out, they have been virtually silent on this topic ever since....

  how do you think the series is going to end?

  i was quite disappointed in tony's behavior recently, forgetting his mission and all the millions of lives at stake, but it is understandable too.

  but the big question is who is the mole if there is one.

  Ok, how have I missed this thread for so long??? I have been a big fan of 24 since 12:00 a.m. on the day of the California primary!!!!!

  I have to say the finale last night was anticlimactic at best. The only surprise was the ax scene, ouch! Of course, in 24 land, 10 minutes later his hand is being reattached... right....

  it was just very paint-by-numbers, catch the bad guy, Palmer is not running cause there is no way to resolve the mess he has made of everything, Tony may or may not go to jail...

  And shame on those of you who thought Michelle was a mole! Michelle rocks! Next year she should be running CTU, she has way bigger b@llz than Tony or Jack!!

  My question to him is Why would Jehovah help me, an apostate through my "whole ordeal"?

  Why do I need to be a witness, at five meetings a week and out in field service if Jehovah will still help me out?

  Typical Watchtower stunt: two long meandering study articles filled with doublespeak and lots of wink-wink nudge-nudge "here is what a TRUE CHRISTIAN, USING HIS BIBLE-BASED CONSCIENCE, might do.." And then, since they continually need to dumb-down everything to accomodate a group who -by design- are no longer are able to think for themselves, a big box with GOOD and BAD spelled out in easy words.

  Need Suggestions

  a jw spammer just jumped onto a medical message board that i belong to.

  i would like to have some suggestions for posting to her.. her topic was (i'm sure you can almost guess what her topic was) "you can live forever in paradise.".

  i need to be respectful of her because the board is moderated very closely and putdowns will not be tolerated, but i'd like some suggestions for questions i can ask her.. okay?

  Beyonce vs. Britney

  Britney is purely a merchandising product, with minimal talent, and marginal attractiveness. She has all the personality and charm of a blow-up doll, but with less intelligence.

  I have never listened much to Beyonce, she might be a slighty more talented singer/performer than Britney, but that's not saying much. Appearance-wise she is attractive enough, but so are thousands of other wanna-be pop divas...

  I am not sure what the appeal of either is. Madonna in her heyday would out-entertain both of them, by far. Even now, she totally stole the show from Britney in the video they did together.

  Throwing mags away in public places

  i did a search and couldn't find another post on this subject, so i hope this hasn't been addressed too recently already.... i systematically throw away wtbts literature that i find in public places (restrooms, and most recently, eight, count 'em, eight mags at the train station that had about 20 chairs in it (four sets of the same magazines--someone had a good month!

  ) i rolled them up and deposited them into the trash, my father was shocked and said that people should be given the chance to read them.

  i said i was saving people from exposure from a cult.

  I say you are doing a public service!

  I also know some have stuck a little page inside magazines they find in public, giving any potential readers a better understanding of just what JWs are all about....

  Either way, anything that prevents others from being exposed to their indoctrination materials is a good thing. If someone really wants to read the WT publications, they can contact their local Kingdom Hall or wait for them to stop by.
